Nothing is explained clearly. The character moves slowly, in a seeming abyss; the expanse just makes it more apparent how bleak things are. The one NPC I met was incomprehensible, because the key that I was supposed to press to open my inventory did nothing...if I was even pressing the right one. I have no idea, because I couldn't see it clearly; I couldn't make heads or tails of whether that was a J, an L, whatever. And then I got stuck talking to them again.

Poor controls, no apparent direction, no way of telling what's what.

This is one of my favorite games I've found on itch.io. I hope some day you revisit this!

Which a strange and interesting prototype. It obviously has a lot of love and care in it. Great work, I’ll check out your other work as well.

this was super cool! there was lots of witty writing and i loved the minigames--reminded me of warioware :^) can't wait for the potential full release <3

cool game! I'm pretty sure I failed at the square-rearranging part and was cast out, but what I played so far was fun and atmospheric.

Really cool! Loved how you used the boss battle aesthetics without the conflict based mechanics

Does perhaps Wraith: the Oblivion ring a bell? Last time I had so much fun with diversity in gameplay done similar style, was Pony Island.

I'm sorry, I haven't played either of those! But I'm glad you enjoyed!

Wraith is actually a classic, book-based RPG, distant part of the World of Darkness series. Pony Island is a digital game.

weird spooky, and atmospheric!  The fighting system with the card was a little confusing- but very cool and fun once i got going with it. I love this little game!

I really liked the aesthetic, the world, the dialogs and the gravestones are witty and absurd i loved them ! (i'd love to write my own gravestone)
I have some questions about the card/combat mechanics (i'm always super excited when I see tarot btw, your cards look appealing and mysterious) I just don't know what the jauges (spirit, home and stat) are for and it felt really one sided for a "combat". Since it's a prototype i'd love to know more about what you want to do with that !
Anyway, congrats for putting this original experience together and i wish you all the best with this project :)

The gauges are all arbitrary. They don't mean anything. It isn't actual "combat", but rather, more of a "passing on", which is why the angel doesn't attack.
It's very intentionally ambiguous and hard to explain, so I'm leaving it open to interpretation.
Thank you for enjoying, though!
